Lutterworth RFC scooped a memorable Welford Road double as they topped both age groups in the Saxons Super 8 tournament last Friday.
Eight teams competed in each of the under-nine and under-10 age-group competitions as an appetiser for the England Saxons versus Ireland A match at the home of Leicester Tigers, and Lutterworth managed to come out on top in both events.

The under-nines came through their league fixtures and beat Hinckley in the final, while South Leicester were beaten in the under-10 final.

Other clubs represented across the age groups were Ashby, Oakham, Market Harborough, Leicester Lions, Melton Mowbray, Leicester Forest and Loughborough.

Tigers community manager Scott Clarke said: “We’d like to thank all of the teams for their support. We saw a great exhibition of mini rugby from all of the clubs involved and some enthusiastic support from parents.

“It was an excellent way to kick off a memorable evening at Welford Road and all of the teams deserve congratulations for their performances. Lutterworth are to be commended for their displays in both age groups."
