“The fact that a player at that level is willing to give up his free time to make these young players’ week speaks volumes for rugby and Tom himself,” said Leicester Tigers community manager Scott Clarke.

“With Tigers greats such as Ian ‘Dosser’ Smith and double Heineken Cup winner Glenn Gelderbloom also coaching on the opening week, the course at Oakham School is bound to be a great one.

“Each course has its own special atmosphere and character, and the Oakham School week is a great addition to our Tigers Rugby Courses programme."

Tigers Rugby Courses feature a full week's coaching covering all the core skills and techniques, with many of the ideas coming straight from Oval Park, the Tigers training ground.

Young players take a Tigers 8-Star Award challenge which is a method of measuring their strengths and areas for improvement up against the highest standards.

Each player will also receive a hot and healthy lunch, Junior Tiger Club membership, Tigers Rugby Course ball, T-shirt and drinks bottle.
