Toby Flood will make his first appearance for Leicester Tigers in cricket whites on Friday when he joins his new teammates at the annual challenge match against a Matt Hampson XI at Rothley Park Cricket Club.
Sam Vesty captains a Leicester Tigers XI which is expected to include Flood, Harry Ellis, Aaron Mauger, Jordan Crane and Martin Corry, while Austin Healey leads the opposition.

“I played a bit of cricket when I was younger, but nothing serious,” said Flood who teamed up with Leicester this summer following his move from Newcastle Falcons. “The guys have been talking about the match and it should be a great occasion for everyone involved, including Matt.”

Proceeds from the event, which has been rescheduled after rain washed out the original date earlier this month, will be shared between the Matt Hampson Trust and the development of junior cricket at Rothley Park CC.

Admission is £5, children under-13 free. Pay on the day. Free car-parking is available and there will attractions for all the family, including bouncy castle, slides, barbeque and bar. Rothley Park Cricket Club is in Westfield Lane, Rothley. Gates open at 4pm for a 5pm start on Friday (July 25).
