Introduction to the Programme
Inside Sport is a unique educational opportunity for pupils from schools and colleges, to come behind the scenes of our Welford Road stadium for a morning or afternoon of activities.
What is the aim of the programme?
Inside Sport aims to provide a fun, interactive and educational experience for pupils of all ages and abilities, for a morning or afternoon. We deliver a stadium tour, as well as a combination of theory and practical sessions, over a number of different topics. Our trips provide a unique insight to what it is like behind the scenes of a professional sports clubs, and give pupils an opportunity to expand their knowledge and learning, through combining sport and education.
Who can get involved in the programme?
Inside Sport is available to any school or college group , of any age. We have previously hosted groups ranging from Key Stage 1 Primary pupils, up to groups of A-Level Sport students. We aim to tailor the sessions we do to suit the age and ability of the learners in the group, and can deliver a wide range of sessions, ranging from more basic topics such as 'A Healthy Lifestyle' and 'Maths and Rugby' to more advanced sessions such as 'Injuries in Sport' and 'Fitness Testing in Rugby'. Shenton Primary School, Gartree High School, Forest Lodge Primary and Stephenson College are just some of the schools who have come to us during the 2015/16 academic year.
