What is the Tigers Learning Centre?

The Tigers Learning Centre fondly known as TLC is a Playing for Success study support centre. We are funded by the Deprtament for Education and Skills, Leicester City Council and Leicester Tigers and our aim is to provide out of hours learning and extra curriculum support for Leicester's inner city primary and secondary schools.

The 10-week programme consists of a variety of activities which have all been designed and developed to consolidate and further skills in literacy, numeracy and Information Communication Technology. All the activities have a strong rugby theme and are intended to give the children an exclusive insight into life at Leicester Tigers.

As part of the programme the children also get to participate in a session of TAG Rugby and have their own special graduation event at the end of the programme. This allows us to celebrate their achievement and successes with their family, friends and teachers.

TLC Awards Scheme

Stars are awarded at the end of each TLC session for excellent pieces of work, good team work, being kind and polite etc etc. The top primary and Secondary school with the most stars at the end of the 10-week programme will be rewarded with a huge certificate of achievement for their school.
