Leicester Tigers' new city centre store, opened in association with Cotton Traders in Market Street, Leicester, is now officially open. Tigers have a long association with Cotton Traders, the company formed by ex-England internationals Fran Cotton and Steve Smith, and they were in Leicester to open the UK's first high street rugby club store.

First-team players Martin Castrogiovanni, Alex Moreno, Marcos Ayerza, Matt Cornwell, Dan Hipkiss, Jordan Crane, Johne Murphy and Harry Ellis joined invited guests and some lucky Leicester Sound listeners who won the chance to have an exclusive preview in the store on Monday evening.

Club president Roy Jackson said: "Leicester Tigers and Cotton Traders have had a long and successful relationship, probably the longest in professional club rugby. The companies share the same values of quality and customer service.

"This new shop demonstrates our commitment to remain at the forefront of our respective businesses. I am delighted to welcome Steve Smith and Fran Cotton to Leicester and thank them for their vision in bringing this project to fruition."

Cotton said: "This shop was really born 10 years ago when we first started working with Tigers. Leicester Tigers are now probably the biggest club rugby brand in the world. It has been wonderful to work with them and we are delighted to be involved with them in this new city centre venture."

The opening was a memorable one too for Leicester supporter Matthew Ringrose, who won a signed replica shirt, and for Alison Tyers who won £500 in vouchers to spend at the Tigers/Cotton Traders store.
