Northampton Saints' new signing Vaughan Going is thrust straight into the action in the number 13 shirt as the Guinness Premiership returns to Franklin's Gardens for Saturday's eagerly anticipated East Midlands derby against Leicester Tigers.

Experienced centre Going, signed from Bristol last week, is set for a real baptism of fire on his debut as he partners captain David Quinlan in the centre with Saints bidding to erase the memories of a disappointing EDF Energy Cup campaign.

England winger Ben Cohen is restored to the line up after recovering from a rib injury sustained in the defeat against Worcester, but fly half Carlos Spencer misses out after failing to recover in time from his groin problem to face the Tigers. Luke Myring therefore starts at no.10 against his former employers and the forwards are boosted by the return of Paul Tupai after a two match suspension.

Head coach Paul Grayson said today: "Games against Tigers are often fast and furious and always highly charged so the need for cool heads and experience is paramount. Losing Carlos is obviously a blow as, apart from the obvious ammunition he provides, he's also one of our more senior players. We're pleased therefore to be able to call upon Vaughan who's ability and experience in the Guinness Premiership could be vital to us."
