Geordan Murphy has been selected on the bench for the opening match of Ireland's Guinness Autumn series against South Africa on Saturday (kick-off 5pm).

The Leicester Tigers star will have to wait to add to his 42 caps as Leinster's Girvan Dempsey starts at full-back, with Shane Horgan and Andrew Trimble on the wings.

Scrum-half Peter Stringer will earn his 70th cap.
