After watching the 39-19 victory over Toulon at Welford Road, Howard said: "We will train right through the week and probably go to Munster a little bit tired, but we want to play against them with the players under a bit of duress. Munster will probably not be at full strength and we might make a few changes.
"We played poorly as a group overall against Toulon and the most disappointing part of that was that we played significantly better against Castres and Stade Francais the previous week and they are stronger opposition," said Howard.
"I was disappointed particularly with our ball control, we will have to be better than that."
After Jordan Crane had scored his first try in front of his new supporters, Howard was pleased to see Henry Tuilagi come through a 50-minute run-out off the bench.
"Henry came on exactly as we had planned. We wanted to give Jordan Crane a run in front of his new home fans and he was on just long enough to score his first try for the club. He took his try really well and that number eight position is very competitive with Henry, Jordan and the England captain in there.
"I think Henry will be in the 22 for the start of the season, he is probably 95 or 97 per cent there on his match fitness now."
Scott Bemand, Matt Smith, Tom Croft, Tom Varndell, Matt Cornwell and Jim Hamilton scored the other tries against Toulon as Howard gave some game-time to all 23 players in the squad.
