We'll play our own game, says Flood

Toby Flood says England will aim to play their own game in their Pool B showdown with Georgia on Sunday (kick-off 7am BST).

Flood partners Leicester Tigers team-mate Ben Youngs at half-back for the Rugby World Cup clash in Dunedin and says playing a tight game could suit their opponents.

“I think if we get into a tight game against Georgia that’s going to play right into their hands,” says Tigers fly-half Flood, who comes into the side for Jonny Wilkinson. “They are a good, strong pack and have experience all over the place.

“They have guys who have played in France and are outstanding in France such as Gorgodze of Montpelier, who was the best overseas player of the year in France last season.

“A key for us is to get quick ball and maintain quick ball. There’s a responsibility on every player in the team to understand when it is the right time to hit a breakdown and clear aggressively.

“If we can win the collisions and not let the line set, then we can play with a bit more instinct.”
