Leicester Tigers will join forces with the Rugby Football Union this Saturday to run Rugby in the City, a live Rugby World Cup event that will take place in Leicester city centre.

A big screen in Humberstone Gate will show live coverage of the Rugby World Cup semi-final between Wales and France, accompanied by a number of rugby-based activities for all the family.

The Tigers roadshow vehicle, The Maul, will be there giving people the chance to take part in our Speed Pass Challenge and meet Welford, the new Tigers mascot. Young fans can also sign up to the Junior Tigers Club. The RFU will provide high quality coaching and activities including tag sessions.

Local clubs from around Leicester, Aylestonians, Aylestone St James, Aylestone Athletic, Belgrave and Stoneygate, will also be present to give demonstrations of adult and junior rugby and to recruit prospective new members.

Tigers legend Bleddyn Jones, now the voice of BBC Radio Leicester’s Tigers coverage, is due to report on the event and interview those attending.

Rugby In The City event in Humberstone Gate, Leicester will run from 8.30am to 4pm on Saturday.
