Geoff Parling, Julian Salvi and Boris Stankovich have been nominated for the Goldsmiths Player of the Month Award for October and voting is now open.

After a 10-month lay-off through injury, Parling made a welcome return to first-team action for the trip to Bath at the start of October. The 27-year-old lock captained Tigers for the first time for the trip to Scarlets in the LV= Cup and played his part in the bonus-point victory over Gloucester.

Australian back-rower Salvi has made a huge impression on Tigers fans since his summer arrival with his combative game and turnover skills. Called into action at flanker and No8, Salvi already has two tries to his name this season.

Renowned for his hard scrummaging and tough tackling, Stankovich’s work-rate has been an impressive feature of the early part of the season. And the prop also popped off the back of a maul to score his first try of the season against Harlequins at the start of the month.

The Tigers player of the month award is supported by Goldsmiths, the largest prestige and luxury jewellers in the UK, who are also official East Stand sponsors and official timekeepers.

Centre Billy Twelvetrees was the first winner of the Goldsmiths Player of the Month Award this season, picking up the supporters’ vote for September.

Twelvetrees says it was a privilege to win the award after collected a Tag Heuer Aquaracer watch from Goldsmiths marketing and communications director Ruth Benford.

“I feel privileged to be named player of the month,” says Twelvetrees. “We have been doing some good things and we feel as though the team has been coming together even though results haven’t all gone for us.”
