Result not all doom and gloom says Murphy

Geordan Murphy says the Tigers dressing room was a quiet place after the disappointment of Saturday's home draw with London Irish.

But the Tigers captain said it was not all doom and gloom after Tigers, who led 24-7 during the second half, took two points from a 24-24 draw at Welford Road.

“The dressing room was quiet after the game and the boys were incredibly disappointed,” said Murphy. “We know we have let one slip away but we got a couple of points and it wasn’t all doom and gloom.

“We held on to the ball, we played through the phases and kicked our points when we had them. There were a lot of good things but in the second half we made a few simple errors and London Irish capitalised.

“Our decisions could have been crisper and we could have exited our defensive zone more effectively. The boys know what we have to do, we have to get ourselves out of there more effectively.”
