Player sponsors enjoyed a behind the scenes look at a Leicester Tigers training session before sharing a drink with the club's stars.

Tigers welcomed companies and individuals who have sponsored the club's players this season for an access-all-areas tour of the Oval Park training ground, including a peek at the club’s state-of-the-art gym and medical facilities.

The sponsors then enjoyed tea and coffee and shared stories with the players at the end of a tough training session.

Clare Cunningham-Hall, is business development manager at Spire Leicester Hospital, sponsors of Tigers, England and British & Irish Lions back-rower Tom Croft. She said: “It was very interesting to see the players training right in front of you. It was full-on and it was really good to see them practicing everything that they do on the field.

“We sometimes patch them up after their training sessions so we know how tough it gets, so we really enjoyed watching them in action.

“It was a really good opportunity to see the training facilities and to then sit down with your player and have a good chat.”

Simon Nolan, is national sales manager of Homestyle Homefurnishings, market leaders in ready-made window furnishings who sponsor Tigers and England Saxons lock George Skivington.

He said: “George and I are of a similar age, we have children of a similar age and all of a sudden we were talking about family life. We had a lot in common and all of the lads were great, they are all down to earth.”

George Ford, the IRB Junior Player of the Year, is sponsored by Loughborough-based training and consultancy firm Consultancy Verite. Account manager Helen Ford said: “It was great to be able to meet the player we sponsor and chat to him in such a friendly environment.

“An event like this speaks volumes about the values of the club and we’re so pleased that we can continue to be a part of it.”
