Tigers stars thank club sponsors

Leicester Tigers' World Cup stars hosted the club's major sponsors for an evening at Stapleford Park near Melton Mowbray this week.

International players Geordan Murphy, Marcos Ayerza, Horacio Agulla, Martin Castrogiovanni, Alesana Tuilagi and England squad men Dan Cole, Tom Croft, Louis Deacon, Toby Flood, Manu Tuilagi, Thomas Waldrom and Ben Youngs joined Tigers directors and management to welcome sponsors to the event.

Executive director Peter Wheeler said: “At Leicester Tigers we have always had real quality sponsors and partners who help us in the present and in the long term. A lot of our sponsors have been linked with the club for many years and we are also delighted to welcome some new names this season.

“We are very proud of the players and the coaches, of the dedication they show in training and in playing, and of how they relate to our supporters and sponsors.”

Director of rugby Richard Cockerill and head coach Matt O’Connor joined MC Matt Poole on stage to talk about the season so far and their hopes for the rest of the campaign, while the players shared their thoughts on the game.

Joining main club sponsors Caterpillar and Finning were Aurum Holdings, Mark Group, Jaguar, Next, Holland & Barrett, Converteam, Oval Insurance, Adams Foods, Crusha, Chester barrie, Jacobs Digital, John Lewis and Health Interlink.

Club captain Murphy, thanking the sponsors for the continued support for the club, and said: “It is very important to have top-end sponsors backing the club. We aim to be the premier rugby team in the country and we have premier sponsors on board too.”
