Diary: Matchday in Clermont

Figure image
Matchday is here and the countdown continues to Leicester Tigers' clash with ASM Clermont Auvergne in the Heineken Cup.

Richard Cockerill’s men take on the French high-flyers at the noisy Stade Marcel Michelin in a 4pm kick-off local time (3pm UK time). Click here for the team news.

Tigers fans in the city woke up on Sunday to a bright, mild morning with daytime temperatures expected to reach highs of around 12C, though it will be cooler in the stadium for the game.

The weather is in contrast to the last time Tigers visited Clermont in the 2009 Heineken Cup campaign when they were greeted by snow and freezing temperatures.

On Saturday night, Tigers fans were dotted around the city, shopping in the Christmas market next to Clermont’s Gothic cathedral, taking in the spectacular light display in the main square and enjoying the hospitality of the many bars and restaurants.

If you are in Clermont lets us know how you travelled to the game and share your tales and pictures with us by emailing [email protected]

We will use as many as we can in our Jacobs Digital Diaries, which you can view by clicking here, and we will have two pages of pictures in the Tigers matchday programme on Saturday.

The Pool 4 game is being shown live in the UK on Sky Sports 2/HD2 and there is live commentary on BBC Radio Leicester. You can also stay in touch with the game and fellow Tigers fans on the Official Leicester Tigers Facebook pages and @LeicesterTigers on Twitter. We will have live scoring on the club website www.leicestertigers.com
