Tigers tackle New Year travel

Figure image
Leicester Tigers have made special arrangements to assist supporters travelling to the home against Sale Sharks on January 1.

The club’s Supporter Services team, working with Arriva, have added another bus route to join the popular T1 route from Market Harborough and T2 buses from Oakham for home games.

The new T3 route from Hinckley and Nuneaton will be in place for every remaining home game, starting with the New Year’s Day fixture when public transport is severely limited.

Supporters should be aware that the Leicester park-and-rides are not open on this day and there are no public bus services. Trains will be running a Sunday service.

Following the success of the T1 and T2 routes, the new T3 service will run from Nuneaton, picking up in Hinckley, Sapcote, Stoney Stanton and Narborough on the way to Welford Road.

Tickets on T1, T2 and T3 services cost just £5 return for adults, £4 for children and concessionary pass holders, wherever you join us.

Drop-off and pick-up for the return is opposite the stadium, next to Mandela Park. The return leg departs 30 minutes after the final whistle.

Supporters are encouraged to pre-book for these services to assist Arriva in allocation of vehicles and drivers, especially for the New Year’s Day service.

Pre-book at the Arriva Travel Shop at St Margaret's Bus Station by phoning 0116 242 3670 or email [email protected]

See below for the supporter bus timetable for this fixture.

Also for New Year’s Day, Tigers are offering matchday parking at the King Power Stadium (Leicester City FC), 500 yards from Welford Road, for just £5 per car.

Parking can be booked online at www.leicestertigers.com (see the ticket section) or by phoning the Tigers ticket office on 0844 856 1880.

If you are driving to the match, Tigers are running a car-share service for New Year’s Day.

If you have space in your car to offer, or are looking for a lift, please send your name, address, email and contact number to us at [email protected] and we’ll try to match you up with someone travelling from the same area.

Match tickets for Tigers versus Sale Sharks are available now. Phone the Tigers hotline on 0844 856 1880 (option 2), visit the Tigers ticket office (8.30am-5pm weekdays, until 8pm Wednesdays, Saturday 9am-5pm). Or click here to book online.
