Worcester v Tigers team news

Scott Hamilton and Billy Twelvetrees return to the Leicester Tigers line-up for the Bank Holiday trip to face Worcester Warriors on Tuesday.

With three Aviva Premiership fixtures scheduled in a 12-day spell, director of rugby Richard Cockerill brings Hamilton and Twelvetrees into the backline, while Ed Slater and Ben Woods are given starting places among the forward pack.

Louis Deacon captains the team in the absence of Geordan Murphy, while the recall for Twelvetrees allows Manu Tuilagi to revert to outside centre, with Matt Smith replacing Alesana Tuilagi on the wing.

Micky Young is named among the replacements after proving his recovery from injury in a run of appearances in the Aviva Premiership ‘A’ League.

“We’ve got three big games in the next two weeks and we need to keep picking up points,” said director of rugby Cockerill.

“In the last five weeks we’ve come through some massive games in the Aviva Premiership and in Europe, but now our focus is entirely on Worcester. We cannot afford a let-up in the intensity we’ve shown recently.”

Tuesday's game is a sell-out at Sixways. You can stay in touch with live scoring on the Tigers official website home page, or via Facebook and Twitter. The game is also being shown live by ESPN.

Tigers return to Welford Road for back-to-back home fixtures against Sale Sharks (January 1) and London Wasps (January 7) after this week’s trip to Sixways. Tickets for both home fixtures are available now from the Tigers ticket office. Phone 0844 856 1880, call in at Welford Road or book online.
