Sharks will be tough says Agulla

Horacio Agulla says the New Year's Day clash with Sale Sharks at Welford Road (3.30pm kick-off) will be as tough as any game Leicester Tigers have faced this season.

Tigers made it five games unbeaten in Aviva Premiership Rugby with a 32-13 bonus-point victory over Worcester Warriors on Tuesday.

The win moved Tigers fifth in the Aviva Premiership Rugby table, level on points with fourth-placed Sale.

And Agulla, who sealed the try bonus at Sixways with a brilliant late try, says Sale will pose a huge threat on Sunday, January 1.

“Every team here in the Aviva Premiership is really good,” says Agulla. “The teams are of a similar level and it is really hard to play against the English teams.

“It is going to be a really hard game. It’s at home, it’s a New Year game, there will be a big crowd and it will be really nice atmosphere and it is a game we’re looking forward to.”

Agulla said his try at Sixways owed a lot to the input of kicking coach Paul Burke. The Argentina international wing finished with a chip over Worcester full-back Chris Pennell before catching the ball in-goal to score.

“I have to give that to Burkey,” says Agulla. “We train that and I was lucky to score it.”
