The Leicester Tigers prop, who has 82 caps, is among the names released by new Italy head coach Jacques Brunel.
Italy face France in Paris on February 4 and play defending champions England a week later at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Brunel has retained 23 players from Italy’s World Cup squad and named four uncapped players in the squad which will assemble in Rome on Sunday, January 22.
