Welford Road is hosting a dinner in honour of Matthews, the club record appearance-holder, to toast his 75th birthday and remarkable 57-year association with Tigers.
More than 150 past captains and players have been invited – led by Geordan Murphy, Martin Johnson, Dean Richards and Paul Dodge – and supporters can share in the evening in the Premiership Suite of the Caterpillar Stand on Wednesday, April 25.
Guest of honour David scored 109 tries in 502 appearances for the club, and has served as captain, coach, director, president and life member.
The dinner includes three-course meal and interviews with some of the club’s greatest names throughout the evening. Dress code is lounge suits/jacket and tie.
