Mulipola agrees to extend Tigers stay

Samoan prop Logovi'i Mulipola will return to Leicester Tigers next season after agreeing a new contract with the Aviva Premiership Rugby club.

Mulipola, 25, has become a big favourite with supporters since making his debut in the home win over London Wasps in January with his dynamic performances in the set-piece and in the loose.

Director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “Logo came here as an international with Samoa but with no experience of European rugby or professional club rugby. He has settled into the Leicester Tigers set-up very well and he is working hard with us.

“He’s already become a bit of a favourite with the supporters and we know there is even more to come from him as he continues to adapt to Premiership rugby with us.”

Mulipola went to the 2011 Rugby World Cup with Samoa before joining Tigers on an initial short-term deal and has picked up an LV= Cup winner’s medal already this season.

He said: “This is one of the best clubs in the world and I am very happy to be here.

“The boys have helped me a lot and I want to stay and become a better player here.”

Irish full-back Niall Morris has also agreed new terms with the Welford Road club.

Morris has scored five tries in his first season at the club following a move from Leinster last summer.

Richard Cockerill said: “Niall settled in well here in his first season and he’s been a useful addition to the squad, playing full-back or wing.”
