North Wootton Primary and Gaywood Primary in King’s Lynn and Newbold Verdon Primary in Leicestershire will take to the pitch on the day of the Aviva Premiership Final on May 26.
The schools will take part in a demonstration of tag rugby at half-time, putting to use the skills they have learned as part of the Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme.
Paul Wright, PE co-ordinator at Newbold Verdon, said: “Being a village school, we are extremely proud to be representing Leicestershire at the Aviva Premiership Finals and the children are really excited about playing in front of 80,000 people.
“The Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme was a fantastic way for our children to improve their skills and understanding of the game.
“The children would not have had the opportunity to take part in such a professional coaching experience without the support of Aviva and Leicester Tigers.”
Tigers have been working with schools across Leicester and Norfolk as part of the Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme, introducing hundreds of children to the tag form of rugby.
Tigers also hold education sessions and give equipment to the schools so they can carry on with tag once our coaches have moved on.
The programme represents a £2million investment by Aviva into the grassroots of the game.
Aligned to the national curriculum and PE syllabus, the programme is designed to unearth the next generation of rugby stars.
