Tick-tock tick-tock - in the zone

Figure image
Only three more sleeps till Twickenham. Though, technically, it's probably only two - there'll be precious little shut-eye on the eve of the game.

No matter how many times you make the trip to Twickenham – and we’re into the dozens now as Tigers supporters – there is always that sense of excitement.

This is where the business really happens. One team will go home on the crest of a wave and with a trophy on the coach, the other will go home and hope for a return visit in the near future.

The pre-match routine for a Final starts for The Tig early in the week.

Shirt, check. Tickets, check. Flag, which one will it be, the stripes or the plain green? Check.

Tickets, check again.

For some light relief there’s an opportunity to join Walk4Matt along the towpaths of the Grand Union Canal towards Twickenham, with some evening entertainment thrown in, including the cricket match at Tring.

Everyone’s talking about the Final. Better check the tickets again. And put them somewhere safe.

Watch a re-run of a previous highlight. Even when you know the outcome and can repeat the commentary word for word, The Tig still swells with pride and still screams encouragement at the team’s performances in Paris, Cardiff, Twickenham or any number of big games in the Premiership.

Final recordings are all the better for including the build-up, the fireworks and the grand entry, then the after-match presentations, the tears and cheers, and laps of honour.

Tingle, check. Anticipation, check. Tickets, check.
