Tigers greeting for Cycle4Matt

Cyclists who are taking on a charity challenge in aid of the Matt Hampson Foundation were joined by around 80 riders on the Leicester Tigers leg.

Tim Westwood and Zach Villers are currently on the Cycle4Matt, which takes them from Newcastle Falcons’ Kingston Park ground to the Aviva Premiership Final at Twickenham via all 12 Aviva Premiership clubs.

Westwood, a Tigers fan and former captain at Ashby RFC, and Villers, his friend and colleague at West Midlands Fire Service, opened up Sunday’s leg from Ashby to Cosgrove to the public.

They were joined on the ride by around 80 cyclists, who were greeted on their arrival at Welford Road by former Tigers, England and British Lions scrum-half Harry Ellis and the Aviva Premiership trophy.

“Riding along with loads of different people just made the day pass so quickly,” said Tim.
