Tigers support Tickets For Troops

Leicester Tigers are continuing their support of Tickets For Troops by donating tickets to Welford Road fixtures next season.

Tigers are providing the Armed Forces charity with a number of tickets to every home game during the 2012/13 campaign.

It will allow service personnel and their families the chance to watch Tigers in action in the Aviva Premiership and Heineken Cup, and their defence of LV= Cup.

Tigers have supported Tickets For Troops for the last two seasons and have also donated concert seats and tickets to the JP Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby Sevens tournament in previous years.

Leicester Tigers chairman Peter Tom CBE said: "Leicester Tigers have long-standing links with the Armed Forces and we are delighted once again to be supporting them through Tickets for Troops.

“It is an excellent cause and we look forward to welcoming more members of the Armed Forces to Welford Road throughout the coming season.”

Ross Barden, Tickets for Troops director of operations, said: "On a daily basis I am humbled by the support from organisations who continue to recognise the sacrifices and hard work that troops make on our behalf.

"Leicester Tigers, since the charity was established in 2009, have constantly got behind the brave men and women of our Armed Forces by providing tickets for all of their home fixtures.

"We are so thankful for their support which makes a real difference to the troops who are doing such an extraordinary job during these difficult times."

Tickets For Troops was set up in 2009 to provide tickets to top sporting, musical and entertainment events to all serving members of the Armed Forces, and all those medically discharged since the commencement of military action in Afghanistan in 2001. Since the charities launch more than 290,000 tickets have been donated and more than 115,000 troops have signed up to the scheme.

Patrons include former British and Irish Lions Lawrence Dallaglio and Gavin Hastings, and Leicester’s former England footballer Gary Lineker.
