Fantastic support as season tickets top last year

Chief executive Simon Cohen thanked Leicester Tigers fans for their fantastic support after season ticket sales topped last year's figure.

More than 13,000 supporters have already secured their places, and another 500 corporate hospitality guests have guaranteed their seats for every home game.

Season ticket holders are guaranteed their place at 17 games – for the price of just 12 – and enjoy benefits including priority booking for any knockout fixtures and Tigers Store discounts.

Cohen said: “We have to prepare for the season and there is a huge amount of work going on at Welford Road.

“Season ticket sales are going really well. We are are going to have more season ticket holders in next year than we had last season, which is excellent.

“It is a fantastic achievement in tough economic conditions to have sold more season tickets than last year.

“It is a fantastic demonstration of support by our supporters and we are delighted with that.”

A Tigers season ticket includes every home game in the Aviva Premiership, Heineken Cup pool stages and LV= Cup pool stages as well as the pre-season fixture with Nottingham Rugby at Welford Road on Saturday, August 25.

Sales of season tickets are open in all areas, and the most popular spots in the lower section of the Caterpillar Stand are almost sold out. Contact the Tigers ticket office now to book your place.

Children aged under 10 years are able to claim a free season ticket when accompanied by a full paying adult. Under-10s tickets have proved extremely popular in recent seasons and we have limited availability for the new season, which kicks off away to London Welsh on Sunday, September 2 before Tigers host Worcester Warriors at Welford Road on Saturday, September 8 (3pm).

Cohen said: “Pre-season is going really well. The England players are back now from their tour. They have been integrated into the training sessions. The people we were hoping to be fit for the start of the season look as though they will be fit. Generally everybody is looking sharp.

“Last season ended disappointingly so everybody is looking for the chance to put that right. There is a buzz about the place and amongst the players. The new faces have freshened it up a bit. There’s a real buzz and a real good vibe about it.”

For all season ticket queries, contact the Tigers ticket office. Call in at Welford Road or phone the cub hotline on 0844 856 1880 (option 2).

The office is open 8.30am-5pm weekdays, until 8pm Wednesdays and 9am-5pm Saturdays throughout the summer.
