Leicester Tigers players past and present will take to the field for a fund-raising T20 competition at Grace Road later this month.

Teams representing Tigers, the Matt Hampson Foundation and the Lord’s Taverners will play in a tournament at the home of Leicestershire County Cricket Club on Sunday, August 19.

Craig Newby leads the Tigers XI, which is set to include Toby Flood, Manu Tuilagi and Anthony Allen as well as Scott Hamilton, Sam Harrison and Matt Smith.

The Matt Hampson Foundation XI will be captained by former Leicestershire and England wicketkeeper Paul Nixon. It is due to feature ex-England bowler Phil Defreitas, BBC Radio Leicester's former Leicestershire seamer Charles Dagnall and former Tigers stars Harry Ellis, Andy Goode and Freddie Tuilagi.

The Lord’s Taverners side is set to include referees Wayne Barnes and Chris White, former Bath and England prop Duncan Bell and Sky’s rugby commentator Miles Harrison, as well as former England internationals Mike Gatting and Devon Malcolm.

Raising money for the Matt Hampson Foundation and the Lord’s Taverners, it  promises to be a great day for the whole family.

The cricket starts at 10.30am with the Matt Hampson Foundation taking on the Lord’s Taverners before Tigers play their game at 2.30pm.

The Tigers roadshow vehicle The Maul will be there and supporters will be able to have their photo taken with the LV= Cup, meet club mascot Welford and try their hand at the Speed Pass Challenge.

There will also be a bouncy castle, the Matt Hampson Foundation's own Speed Pass Challenge, wheelchair basketball displays, a book signing by Matt Hampson and Paul Nixon, and the chance to meet the players and get autograph and photos.

Tickets are £1 for juniors, £5 for adults are available now from Leicestershire County Cricket Club on 0116 245 2401 by clicking here, or simply pay on the day.
