Jersey expect a crowd of around 4,000 at St Peter for their first game since clinching promotion to the Championship, while Tigers are preparing for their Aviva Premiership campaign.
Tigers were away on summer camp last week at Bishop Burton College and Saturday’s fixture represents the first of three pre-season fixtures for Richard Cockerill’s men.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” says Thompstone, 24, who could play his first game for Tigers since his summer move from London Irish.
“We train to play so it will be nice to get out there and see what we have got. It’s not going to be 100 per cent perfect but it is nice to start putting things into place and to play a game.
“It’ll be my first time to Jersey and I’m looking forward to it.”
