Dynamite Club groups share Tigers matchday

Two groups from Leicester Tigers' Dynamite Club projects shared the opening matchday of 2012/13 with Leicester Tigers last Saturday.

At half-time in Tigers’ fixture against Nottingham, the Dynamite Club groups commemorated the end of their 70-hour courses by joining international rugby stars Tom Croft and Ben Youngs for photos on the Welford Road pitch.

The Dynamite Club is an aspirational, high-profile programme delivered by Leicester Tigers Education targeting young people not in education, employment or training made possible by the support of Leicestershire Connexions, TNT and the Wooden Spoon Children’s Charity.

Each course is designed to use the positives of sport to encourage and assist young adults (aged 16-19 years) to improve their opportunities and progress into either education or employment. Throughout the course the Tigers team encourages a better understanding of a healthier and more active lifestyle. Qualifications are added to the challenging activities including Tigers’ own nationally-recognised Level 1 qualification in strength and conditioning.

With the support of Wooden Spoon, over the past three years the Dynamite Club has helped more than 100 young adults towards a better future. Anyone interested in finding out about the Dynamite Club programme or working closer with Tigers Education should contact the Education team based within the Community department at Welford Road by phoning 0844 856 1880 or email [email protected]
