The performances in Leicester Tigers colours of George Chuter and Scott Hamilton were celebrated at the first home game of the season on Saturday.

Chuter was presented with a silver plate in recognition of becoming the first player to make 250 Premiership Rugby appearances.

Chuter reached the milestone in the game against Bath Rugby at Welford Road last season and to date has made 253 appearances in the competition.

The popular Tigers and England hooker was presented with the plate by Premiership Rugby chief executive Mark McCafferty during half-time of Saturday’s game against Worcester Warriors.

And after the final whistle, Hamilton received his club cap from chairman Peter Tom after making his 100th start for Tigers.

Hamilton, who made his first start against Harlequins at Welford Road in November 2008, reached his centenary against Worcester on Saturday. In all, he has made 113 appearances for Tigers, scoring 29 tries.

The Tigers and All Black wing said: “I’ve had a great time at the club and I would like to thank all of the fans for their support.”
