Seven Tigers retained by England for Fiji Test

Seven Leicester Tigers players have been retained in the 23-man England squad preparing for Saturday's opening international of the season.

The group will return to England’s training base at Pennyhill Park on Wednesday evening as they build up towards the QBE International against Fiji at Twickenham on Saturday.

Dan Cole, Geoff Parling, Thomas Waldrom and uncapped hooker Tom Youngs are included in the 23, together with Toby Flood, Manu Tuilagi and Ben Youngs.

Tigers colleague Anthony Allen Anthony Allen is among a group of 10 playters released back to the clubs on Tuesday evening.

England head coach Stuart Lancaster said: "We have had a good two days back at Pennyhill Park and the players have been very focused on delivering against Fiji. Saturday is a great opportunity for us to put a marker down and deliver a quality performance.”
