Poppy shirts will carry Tigers letters

Leicester Tigers will revert to lettered shirts for the historic fixture against the Maori All Blacks at Welford Road on Tuesday.

Reflecting the club’s traditional lettering, from the ABC front row to letter ‘O’ at full-back, the Tigers shirts will also incorporate a poppy logo in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Each Tigers player will sign their own shirt after the game – supplied by Canterbury and Kitbag – and these will be auctioned online in aid of the annual Poppy Appeal.

The Tigers versus Maori All Blacks fixture is at Welford Road on Tuesday, November 13, and is the closest home game to Remembrance Sunday.

All money raised from the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal goes towards providing much-needed support for the Armed Forces and their families, and the donations target for this year is £42million.

Poppy Appeal wristbands will also be available at Tuesday’s match.

Tigers have also added a Poppy Appeal logo to the club’s official Twitter and Facebook pages.

Full details of the Poppy Appeal shirt auction will be posted on the club website at www.leicestertigers.com after the match.
