Toby Flood has won the Goldsmiths Player of the Month Award for October.

Flood saw off competition from prop Logovi’i Mulipola and scrum-half Ben Youngs to win the supporters' vote for the second player of the month prize of the season.

Fly-half Flood is currently away on Test duty with England in the QBE Internationals and he is set to receive a Tag Heuer watch when he returns to Tigers.

Voting is now underway for the Goldsmiths Player of the Month Award for November with Fraser Balmain, Ed Slater and Adam Thompstone on the three-man shortlist.

Balmain made a big impression on his first two starts in a senior Tigers team during November. The Academy graduate, who turned 21 in November, made his first start for the club in the historic win over the Maori All Blacks at Welford Road and followed it up with an eye-catching performance against London Irish in the LV= Cup.

Slater has showed his versatility and value to the Tigers squad during November. He came off the bench in the first-half of the victory over Northampton to play a key role in the second row battle before starting the game against the Maori All Blacks in the back row. Slater returned to the second row for the LV= Cup game against London Irish, skilfully running the lineout.

Thompstone scored his fourth try in three starts with a blistering score in the thrilling win over the Maori All Blacks. The wing swooped on Matt Smith’s clearance to outpace the covering defence and score a try that proved crucial in Tigers’ 32-24 victory.

Supporters can vote for their favourite at the Goldsmiths Facebook page and clicking on the Tigers app.
