Quartet kick off Christmas at Try Tuesdays

Tigers supporters shared their Christmas build-up with some of the players at the Try Tuesdays International Christmas Dinner at Welford Road on Tuesday.

Marcos Ayerza, Dan Bowden, Julian Salvi and Louis Deacon joined supporters for dinner, as well as sharing their thoughts on their rugby lives and their memories of Christmas.

Argentina prop Ayerza talked about the big family celebrations back home with nine brothers and sisters as well as the changing face of international rugby with the Pumas now playing the southern hemisphere’s top three nations on an annual basis, while Dan and Julian shared their memories of laid-back summer Christmases at home in New Zealand and Australia plus their thoughts on settling in at Tigers.

Deacon, enjoying a benefit year, told supporters why he is expecting a busy – and noisy – Christmas this year and how much it means to pull on the Tigers shirt 15 years after first joining the club.

The quartet joined in the Christmas fun too, and dined with the Try Tuesdays supporters in the hospitality suite of the Caterpillar Stand.

The next Try Tuesdays supporters’ event is the Pub Quiz on February 12.

More than 300 supporters too part last year, together with a team of players and a team of Tigers staff.

Tickets are available now so get together with some friends and enjoy a fun evening in the company of the players and other supporters.
