Ben Youngs wants 'Fortress Twickenham'

Ben Youngs says England are determined to turn Twickenham into a fortress as they prepare to kick-off their RBS 6 Nations campaign at home to Scotland today (live on BBC1 4pm).

England beat the world champions New Zealand in their last game at Twickenham, the final game of the autumn internationals.

And Leicester Tigers scrum-half Youngs says England want to go on a long unbeaten run at home, starting with today’s Calcutta Cup clash.

“Stuart Lancaster has spoken about making Twickenham a fortress again,” says Youngs, who starts for England alongside his brother Tom Youngs and Tigers teammates Dan Cole and Geoff Parling with Toby Flood on the bench.

“Like the side that won in 2003 when they went however many games unbeaten at Twickenham, that’s something that we want to do.

“The crowd have been fantastic, the last games against New Zealand, they were unbelievable and hopefully they will be again this weekend," he told the RFU podcast.
