We'll Keep on Fighting until the End

Saturday 23 February saw the rivalry clash between Leicester Tigers and Saracens at Welford Road.

The final score was Tigers 27 Saracens 32. Tigers received a losing bonus point to keep us third in the Aviva Premiership table. Tries came from Julian Salvi and Dan Bowden. Bowden’s try has also been nominated for ‘Try of the Week.’

The whole of the Final Whistle and the JTC VIP area and was host to the two Six Nation games, where a few Tigers stars were in action. Castro captained Italy and Manu started for England.

The JTC VIP area which was open from 2.00pm had a ‘Sleepover’ theme on Saturday due to the 8pm KO. There were lots of art & crafts including finger puppets, International flag and tiger mask making. We hope you enjoyed having the balloon modeller who created some great hats and flowers!  Did you find ‘Where’s Welford’ on the big screen?

Joe Cain and George Oliver were the special guests in the JTC VIP area. They served up all your milkshake delights and also chose the lucky winners.  Attached to the fortnightly ‘Splat’ was a Leicester Tigers quiz to test your knowledge and Eleanor Tuckey was drawn out by George Oliver and won a signed pencil case. Bronwyn Bottnilt-Deakin had the eagle eye and spotted where all the Welford’s were and also won a signed pencil case.

The JTC mascot who was chosen by Joe Cain was Liam Elson. He ran out with captain of the day Geordan Murphy before the game against Saracens.  Don’t miss your chance to be a lucky winner in the JTC area on Saturday March 2. Look out for the activity and mascot form attached to the ‘Splat’ for you chance to win.

On Saturday March 2 Sale Sharks visit Welford Road in the Aviva Premiership, KO 3.00pm. The final home game until Sunday April 14, which happens to be the ‘Kids Takeover Day.’ Keep a look out for more information on this during the week and fill out the activity sheets on matchday for your chance to be in charge!
