Sale Sharks were the visitors to Welford Road on Saturday March 2, which saw Leicester Tigers win 48-10 in a six try, bonus point thriller.

Ed Slater and Matt Smith scored two tries each with Matthew Tait also adding his name to the scoreboard and there was a penalty try to top it off. Ed Slater’s try has also been nominated for try of the week.

The JTC VIP area had an exciting atmosphere on Saturday, with the upcoming JTC Takeover Day, a hot topic for all. We had two competitions running for the JTC Takeover Day which is taking place at the next home match. We’ve had some great entries to be the LTTV interviewer and the billboard designer. It’s going to be hard to pick a winner! Alex Lewington also joined us in the JTC VIP area. He whipped up your favourite Crusha milkshakes and answered your questions. His favourite was “Who is the worst dressed player at Leicester Tigers?” He named and shamed his team mate Fraser Balmain. Check out the JTC gallery to see if you were snapped on Saturday. http://www.leicestertigers.com/fans/jtc/galleries.php

We had two JTC mascots on Saturday, Paige who was the lucky winner of the Crusha competition as she found the hidden splat on the JTC page of the Leicester Tigers website and Matthew was the JTC mascot chosen by Alex Lewington. Both mascots ran out onto the Welford Road pitch with Leicester Tigers captain Tom Croft who celebrated his 100th start for the club. Our Tiger Cubs got the chance to copy Welford’s new dance moves around the pitch and score a try in front of the roaring crowd!

There’s a long wait now till the next home game Sunday April 14 against London Wasps Kick off 03:45pm. This is also the all important JTC Takeover Day where YOU get to takeover Welford Road. Keep and eye out for the fortnightly Splat, and competitions on the Tigers website for your chance to be part of the day maybe the stadium announcer or mini Welford..? The JTC VIP area will be open from 01:45pm.

Don’t forget to check http://www.leicestertigers.com/fans/jtc/whats_on.php  after 5pm on the Friday before the game to see which Tigers player will be joining us in the JTC VIP area.
