Ed Slater took a peek behind the scenes on the Leicester Tigers Rugby Show when he went on work experience at BBC Radio Leicester.

Slater, who features regularly in interviews for the Wednesday evening radio programme, got to see how it is all put together when he joined presenter Martin Ballard and his team.

Slater says: “We see Martin Ballard a lot during press days at Oval Park and matchdays at Welford Road.

“He showed me around, I looked at how everything is set up and what everyone does day-to-day.

“I sat in on a couple of shows, including the Leicester Tigers Rugby Show and Louis Deacon and Matt Hampson were guests in the studio.

“I really enjoyed it. I am interested in that side of things and did a bit of that stuff at university. It’s good to see what happens after we’ve given the interviews and to get a look at it properly.”

The Leicester Tigers Rugby Show is broadcast from 6pm-7pm every Wednesday during the season on 104.9FM, on DAB and online
