Now it's all down to the run-in

It's back to work for the Aviva Premiership clubs this week, with just five rounds of fixtures to come before the end of the league programme.

The clubs welcome back their international players at the conclusion of the Six Nations period and now the sole focus is in club colours.

Leicester Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill will have eight members of the England squad and Italy prop Martin Castrogiovanni back in training and said: “We’re in the mix, which is key, and it is all to play for. Everyone will be desperate for the points now because everyone has something to play for in this league. There are some massive games left.

“The players have had some time off since our last game but now we’re all back to work and fully focused on the first part of the run-in, which is at Exeter Chiefs this Saturday.

“We’ve got Exeter and Saints away, then Toulon in a European quarter-final which is a big run of games and a nice welcome back for the boys. Then we have just three more league games – suddenly you’re into the sharp end of the season.”

Tigers are in third place in the Aviva Premiership table after claiming a bonus-point win over Sale Sharks last time out.

“Those points are massive for us,” said Cockerill. “We took 11 points from four games in the Six Nations period and that gets us into the mix again with those international guys and some injured players to come back into the squad.”
