Draw for the JP Morgan Sevens

Premiership Rugby have confirmed the draw for the 2013 JP Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s Series.

Leicester Tigers will face London Welsh, Northampton Saints and Sale Sharks in Pool B at Franklin’s Gardens on Friday, August 2.

The series, now in its fourth year, will kick off at Kingsholm Stadium on Thursday, August 1 when Gloucester Rugby host Bath Rugby, Exeter Chiefs, and Worcester Warriors in Pool A.

Completing the pool stages on Saturday, August 2 at Allianz Park will be hosts Saracens, holders London Irish, Harlequins and London Wasps in Pool C.

Bath’s Recreation Ground will host the finals on Friday 9 August.

Former Tigers and England centre Will Greenwood, a JP Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s ambassador, said: “It’s a cracking night of entertainment and fast flowing rugby and I for one can’t wait to get down to see all the action.”

The three pool stages and the final will be the first rugby union covered live on the new BT Sport channels.

Former England captain Lawrence Dallaglio, who won the Sevens World Cup withe England in 1993, has signed with BT Sport to become its leading rugby union expert. He said: “I loved my time playing Sevens so fully understand how important it can be in the development of young players, the J.P. Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s Series has established itself in the rugby calendar and I expect the 2013 event to be a great showcase for Sevens.

“Rugby’s admission into the Olympic Games, in Rio in 2016, will take the sport on to a new level and increase its global appeal.”
