Team news: Tigers v Wasps this Sunday

Leicester Tigers return to home soil for the first time since the beginning of March for the Aviva Premiership Rugby Round 20 fixture against London Wasps this Sunday (kick-off 3.45pm).

Tigers sit in second place in the Aviva Premiership table with just three rounds remaining and make just one change to the side that started last weekend’s European quarter-final in Toulon.

Logovi’i Mulipola takes over at prop from Marcos Ayerza who suffered a broken collarbone in Toulon. Fraser Balmain earns a place among the replacements after Mulipola’s elevation.

Toby Flood will captain the Tigers at home for the first time after previously leading the team on successive away trips to Exeter Chiefs, Northampton Saints and Toulon.

Director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “We’ve had three very tough away games in the last three weeks. We’ve had great travelling support but it seems a long time since we played at home and everyone is looking forward to getting back to Welford Road.

“Wasps have played very well this season. They certainly have their threats and they’ll be looking for a big finish to the season.

“Everyone was obviously disappointed that we were unable to go further in Europe but you move to move on. We’re in good spirits and looking forward to it.”

A limited number of tickets are still available for Sunday’s match. Book at Welford Road or phone the ticket office on 0844 856 1880 (open 8.30am-5pm Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday and from 9am Sunday). Or book online any time at the club website.
