A crowd of 16,500 spectators joined Leicester Tigers legends and stars of international rugby for a charity game at Welford Road on Sunday afternoon.

Martin Johnson returned ‘home’ to captain a team of Tigers Legends against World Cup winner Jason Robinson’s International Legends. The game was in aid of the Matt Hampson Foundation and Louis Deacon’s Benefit Year, which is supporting the Foundation and the Scotty’s Little Soldiers charity.

The Tigers squad included Martin Corry, Harry Ellis and Lewis Moody, as well as Julian White, Darren Garforth and Tim Stimpson

The Hambo XV included former Samoa international Mike Umaga, ex-South Africa winger Thinus Delport and former Tigers front-rower Darren Morris.

And it was the international XV who ran out 41-19 winners, scoring seven tries in total while the Tigers Legends scored three tries through Geordan Murphy, Dorian West and Jeremy Staunton.
