Leicester Tigers duo Geoff Parling and Tom Youngs have been shortlisted for the Monitise England Player of the Year Award, to be presented at the RPA Computacenter Players' Awards next week.

Parling and Youngs are joined on the three-man shortlist by London Wasps second-rower Joe Launchbury.

Parling said: “It is an honour to be nominated by my team-mates in what has been a very promising but frustrating season at the same time. Hopefully this year will stand us in good stead for the future and help us develop further as a team.”

Youngs, who earned his first senior cap during this season’s autumn internationals, said: “It's a massive honour to be recognised by my fellow players because they are the ones who really know what goes on on the pitch. I also feel proud to be nominated alongside Geoff and Joe who are outstanding players and I am proud to have as my team-mates.”

The RPA Computacenter Players’ Awards are presented on Wednesday, May 22 at Battersea Evolution.
