Tigers in second group of Euro seeds

Figure image
Leicester Tigers will be in the second group of seeds in the draw for next season's Heineken Cup.

The draws for the composition of the pools for the Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup tournaments, which will be held next month, are based on the ERC European Rankings.

For the purposes of the Pool draws, the qualifying clubs from all six participating nations are awarded points for their finishing positions in the two ERC competitions over the previous four seasons.

Each Pool in the Heineken Cup will consist of a team from each of the four ranked groups. No Pool will include more than one team from each country, other than one Pool which will include two French clubs as they have seven qualifiers next season.

English champions Tigers will be drawn in a pool with one of Leinster, Toulon, Toulouse, Clermont Auvergne, Munster or Ulster. The only other thing for certain ahead of the draw is that Tigers are not able to join Cardiff Blues, Perpignan or any English club in the Pool stages.
