Purdy on the mark in Engand U20s win

Leicester Tigers wing Henry Purdy scored two tries in England Under-20s record-breaking 109-0 win against USA at the IRB Junior World Championship.

The victory secured England a semi-final with New Zealand on Tuesday (June 18) while South Africa will face Wales in the other last four clash.

England included Purdy’s Leicester Tigers teammates Harry Wells and Tom Price in the second row. The three Tigers players played the whole 80 minutes at the Stade Henri Desgrange in La Roche-sur-Yon.

England ran in a total of 17 tries. As well as Purdy’s brace, England scored through captain Alex Day (3), Joel Conlon (2), Ben Howard (2), Ross Moriarty (2), David Sisi (2), Tom Stephenson (2), Ollie Devoto and Tom Smallbone. Fly-half Will Hooley kicked 22 points and Devoto added a conversion.
