Busy week for Welford and The Maul

Welford and the Leicester Tigers roadshow vehicle, known as The Maul, are gearing up for another busy week with The Maul.

After joining Sophie, Countess of Wessex and tens thousands of visitors to the Lincolnshire Show last week, Tigers club mascot Welford will be at the Norfolk Show and the Broughton Astley Carnival this week.

The roadshow team will join around 90,000 people at the Norfolk Show on Wednesday and Thursday.

Visitors will include HRH Prince Michael of Kent, who will be attending in his capacity as royal patron of Norfolk-based charity, Care for Children.

The Norfolk Show is the country’s largest two-day agricultural show and The Maul will be joined by more than 650 stands.

Visitors to new-look The Maul can have their photograph taken with the Aviva Premiership Trophy, take on the Speed Pass Challenge to win a signed shirt, pick up a free Junior Tigers Club goody bag and meet club mascot Welford.

The Maul will be at the Broughton Astley Carnival on the Thomas Estley School fields in Station Road, Broughton Astley on Saturday. This year’s theme is Music and Fashion Through the Decades and the parade is from midday to 1pm with entertainments and attractions from midday to 5pm.

There will be a fancy dress competition as well as stalls, fun fair rides a beer tent and a barbecue plus live music.
