Look behind the scenes at a Tigers Rugby Camp

See what goes on at a Tigers Rugby Camp in a behind the scenes video filmed during this week's visit to Italy.

Tigers coaches, including Academy assistant manager Tosh Askew and former first-team captain and coach Ian ‘Dosser’ Smith, are putting more than 100 young players through their paces at the Bologna Lions rugby club this week.

It is the first time Tigers have held a camp in Italy and follows the success of recent camps in Holland, Malaysia and the Channel Islands.

Our friends at Bologna Lions have put together a behind the scenes film which gives a flavour of life on a Tigers Rugby Camp. Click here to watch it on YouTube.

Tigers are running a full programme of Rugby Camps during the summer and places are already filling up fast. Players are being encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment.

The camps at Lichfield (July 29-August2) and Market Rasen (August 12-16) rugby clubs, and the residential camp at Bishop Burton College near Beverley (August 5-9) are close to selling out.

A massive summer kicks off at Syston RFC (July 15-19). There will be rugby camps right across the Tigers region and Tigers will return to Jersey RFC (July 22-26) and Guernsey RFC (August 27-30).

Supported by energy efficiency experts Mark Group, our rugby camps give players who are playing contact rugby in next seasons 2012/14 under-9s to under-16s age groups the chance to experience top-quality rugby coaching in a professional environment. There is also a series of tag rugby courses for under-sevens and under-eights players.

All coaching is provided by our Tigers community coaching team alongside some of Tigers top senior academy coaches and players past and present, including Smith, ex hooker Troy Thacker and two-time Heineken Cup winner Glenn Gelderbloom.

They will be passing on some of the tips that have taken Tigers to a record tenth English title this season.

The courses run closely to the Tigers Academy and youth rugby programme. Each player will also receive a match ticket to an allocated home game, a hot lunch (except at Syston RFC and Melbourne RFC) a Tigers Rugby Camp T-shirt, rugby ball and drinks bottle and free membership to the Junior Tigers Club.
