Leicester Tigers players joined sponsors and invited guests for the club's first-ever Luxury Brand Event.

Savile Row tailors Chester Barrie, fine jewellery and silverware retailer Mappin & Webb and fine watch retailer Watches of Switzerland, who together with Goldsmiths form Aurum Holdings, and Land Rover were among the luxury brands attending.

The event at Welford Road brought the brands together with around 100 invited guests plus members of the Tigers squad including Jordan Crane, Toby Flood and Anthony Allen.

Chris Scott-Gray, head of marketing at Tigers sponsors Chester Barrie, said: “It’s a really good night and great to see so many Tigers supporters and sponsors showing an interest in Chester Barrie.”

Chester Barrie are in the process of making the players’ suits for the coming season, and unveiled their exclusive tie at Wednesday night’s event.

“We came in towards the end of last season to measure the players for their suits and shirts as well,” said Chris. “They are on their way, the ties arrived this morning and we will come back up at the end of the month to make sure that everything fits so they are ready for the beginning of the season.”

Ruth Benford, marketing and communications director at Aurum Holdings, said: “It’s great, as always, to be part of what the Leicester Tigers are doing.

“We are probably more known at the Tigers as part of Goldsmiths but Mappin & Webb and Watches of Switzerland are our other brands and it’s great to be here at a luxury event with those brands.”

Tigers fly-half Flood added: “People want to be affiliated with the sport and the history that Leicester have, that ability to win championships and be a team that wants to lead and be at the forefront of the league.

“It’s nice to see these brands involved with the club and, obviously for us, it’s pretty good to be wearing nice suits and to be trying to steal watches!”
