LV= Cup fixture details for new season

Figure image
Leicester Tigers will open the LV= Cup campaign in the new season with a home game against the Ospreys.

Tigers are drawn in Pool 2 and, following the rules of the Anglo-Welsh competition, will face each of the teams in Pool 3, meaning home games against Ospreys and Bath Rugby, with away trips to Worcester Warriors and the LV= Cup holders Harlequins.

To qualify for the semi-finals, Tigers will have to finish top of Pool 2, above Exeter Chiefs, Sale Sharks and Cardiff Blues.

The match against Ospreys opens this season’s tournament at Welford Road on Friday, November 8 (7.45pm).

Tigers go to Worcester Warriors in Round 2 the following weekend, then travel to Quins in Round 3 in the new year before hosting old rivals Bath at Welford Road on Saturday February 1 in the last fixture of the pool stages.

Pool fixtures in the LV= Cup are included in Tigers season tickets.

Match tickets are on sale now from the Tigers ticket office to season ticket holders requiring extra tickets for any 2013/14 fixture and to members. Match tickets for all fixtures will go on general sale at the Tigers ticket office from July 22.

Competition format:
The LV= Cup is a 16-team competition involving the 12 Aviva Premiership Rugby clubs and four Welsh regions, played in four pools of four with three English clubs and one Welsh region in each pool.
English clubs have been allocated to the pools depending on their finish in last season's Aviva Premiership Rugby competition. Welsh regions have been allocated to the pools to avoid repeating fixtures from the Heineken and Amlin Challenge Cups where possible.
Teams in Pool 1 play teams in Pool 4 and teams in Pool 2 play teams in Pool 3. Each team plays four pool matches – two home and two away – with the top team from each pool qualifying for the semi-finals.
